Royal Umpire Scrapbook Layout with My Minds Eye

A quick and simple scrapbook layout using My Minds Eye Antique Floral papers.

Designer Papers

I’m a big fan of the Antique Floral paper stack form My Mind’s Eye. It contains an incredible 180 sheets of designer paper. The patterns are mostly quite small scale which I personably really like, there’s a few larger scale designs like the one I’ve used for the main page on this scrapbook layout. Mostly I prefer the smaller scale designs are I feel like they let the focal images take centre stage.

Distress inks add such a lovely distressed effect to the edges of paper panels. I use a blending tool to sweep the ink onto the edges of the designer papers. It really makes them pop against the plainer background.

On this scrapbook layout I’ve used the Peeled Paint shade of Distress Ink by Tim Holtz.

Scrapbook Page Title

I’m using some new alphabet stickers that I bought form the pound shop. I chose a silver set because I can colour the individual letters with my ProMarkers so that they co-ordinate perfectly with my layout’s colour scheme.

Embellishments

I’ve added a few co-ordinating embellishments from my stash. I wanted to draw attention to the photo of my much missed dog, Suzie. So I put a couple of little leaves around her picture and a little green wooden butterfly in the other corner.

Accents

I followed the sketch pretty accurately and made some little pennants from leftover scraps of the My Minds Eye papers. I usually cut my p0ennants using a craft knife and ruler but this time I decided to cut them by hand to give them a bit more of a “shabby” look.

A Little Bit About Me . . .

Hi there! Thank you so much for stopping by my little corner of the interweb. I’m Bridie.

I’ve been crafting since I was toddling around craft shows while my mum sold knitting yarn. She used to buy me a new craft kit to keep me busy. When I grew up I set up my own online craft shop and loved every minute of it. There’s is nothing like the thrill of getting to be one of the first people to see new craft collections.

I sold my business to focus on raising my two children. They’re still young so for now I’m blogging my craft projects and sharing tutorials to inspire you. I love creating handmade cards with digital stamps. I scrapbook to preserve precious memories of my kids childhoods. I knit and sew to keep my kids in comfortable, unique clothes they love. I create batch cooked meals that give me more time to craft. And because I’m not currently earning I do all of this on a teeny tiny budget.

I’ll show you all the best ways to craft on a tight budget so you can still create a life you love.
