How to Make a Sweet Easter Scrapbook Page

I’m scrapbooking photos of my baby girl’s first easter. I’ve paired them with Craft Sensations Florals and Basics papers and XCut dies. A fun distressing technique give the scrapbook layout a soft vintage vibe.

Designer Scrapbook Papers

I love the designer papers from Craft Sensations. There are loads and loads of different designs to choose from. I’m literally spoilt for choice. The quality is great, they don’t feel thin or flimsy but they are fantastically good value.

I get them from the Range and typically pay just £2.99 a pack. Even on a tight budget I can afford to have a whole stack to choose from.

The Florals and Basics paper pack includes navy blues which I wanted to echo from the photos of my baby girl’s dress.

Scrapbook Embellishments

One of the many things i like about the Craft Sensations paper packs in that they often include extra elements like tags and small images. On this scrapbook layout I’ve fussy cut some of the little toppers and stuck them onto my page.

I die cut some little bunting flags and stuck them to the top left corner with 3D foam pads and a strip of twine to make a cute little bunting embellishment.

I’ve started using a fun new technique for edging my papers. I hold the paper in one hand a run the edge along the blade of a pair of scissors. It’s distresses the edges of the paper beautifully, just like the distress tool I’ve been coveting for years. I had heard that you could achieve the same effect with scissors but I didn’t quite believe it. I thought I’d give it a go and I’m really pleased I did, I think this technique is my latest obsession! I will say that it only works with heavier weight papers like Craft Sensations papers, thinner papers would tear too easily.

My Mid West Alphabet die from XCut is out to play again! This has to be one of my most used dies. XCut dies are great value to start with but the amount I use this one makes it a real bargain.

A Little Bit About Me . . .

Hi there! Thank you so much for stopping by my little corner of the interweb. I’m Bridie.

I’ve been crafting since I was toddling around craft shows while my mum sold knitting yarn. She used to buy me a new craft kit to keep me busy. When I grew up I set up my own online craft shop and loved every minute of it. There’s is nothing like the thrill of getting to be one of the first people to see new craft collections.

I sold my business to focus on raising my two children. They’re still young so for now I’m blogging my craft projects and sharing tutorials to inspire you. I love creating handmade cards with digital stamps. I scrapbook to preserve precious memories of my kids childhoods. I knit and sew to keep my kids in comfortable, unique clothes they love. I create batch cooked meals that give me more time to craft. And because I’m not currently earning I do all of this on a teeny tiny budget.

I’ll show you all the best ways to craft on a tight budget so you can still create a life you love.
