I’m sharing another one of my favourite stash busting knitting patterns, super easy mittens knitted with leftover Aran knitting yarn.
Materials
I knitted Little Miss a hoody what feels like many, many years ago. Apparently it was only in 2019, yikes that’s 4 years ago! She’s long since grown out of it and it is currently stored away under Little Dude’s bed waiting for him to have another growth spurt so that he can wear it.
It looks like I did actually blog about it at the time. The blog post is below if you’d like the details. These mittens are knitted with the left over yarn.
I don’t get on with the magic loop technique so I’ve invested in a set of 4mm and 5mm double pointed needles. I’ve used 4mm for the cuffs and 5mm needles for the main part of the gloves.

Knitting Pattern
I’m on a mission to use up the yarn I alreday have before buying any new yarn so that means using up those leftover little bits after finishing larger knitting projects. I’m building up a stash of small knitted accessories that will co-ordinate perfectly with my larger projects or could be used as a gift in their own right.
This mittens pattern has quickly become one of my favourites. It’s The World’s Simplest Mittens from Tin Can Knits. The pattern is completely free and you can even download a printable pdf.
What makes this knitting pattern really, super handy is that it comes in a range of sizes from toddler to adult AND it also comes in a range of yarn weights. So no matter what project I need accessories for I can knit these super simple mittens with my leftover yarn.

I do hope my Mittens project has inspired you to have a go at knitting your own gloves with your leftover bits of yarn.
