I love my Bunzies from Stitch Upon a Time, they are the comfiest underwear I have ever owned. So of course when my kids needed new undies I bought them the Kid’s Scrundlewear sewing pattern. They’re really easy to sew too and best of all the fabric pieces are quite small so they can be sewn for leftover scraps of fabric that may otherwise go to waste.

Sewing Pattern

Kid’s Scrundlewear

These Kid’s Scrundlewear sewing pattern from Stitch Upon a Time are sooo comfortable!! Honestly once you’ve tried hand sewn knickers you won’t go back!

The Kid’s Scrundlewear sewing pattern is super quick and easy to sew up. There’s just two main pieces plus the liner which is a tiny little scrap of fabric. Then there’s the three bands unless you’re using the elastic bands option.

I’ve never actually tried the elastic band option. The stretch bands offer the most in terms of comfort and that’s my priority so I’ve only used that option. It seems that my Little Miss is in agreement with me, she no totally rejects and elastic in her knickers and I really can’t blame her.

I’m really pleased that the Kid’s Scrundlewear sewing pattern includes both boys and girls style underwear. My Little Dude can have a fly front if he wants. The pattern does include a trainer option but I’ve never really found them helpful and I’m delighted to say that my kid’s potty training days are far behind us!!

On this occasion I’ve made the girls style with my Little Miss in mind but life got in the way and she grew out of them sometime between me cutting out the pattern pieces and finding time to sew them up. So now my Little Dude is loving his new undies and he honestly doesn’t seem to care that they are more like a girls cut.

One of my favourite features of this pattern is how useful it is for using up leftover bits of fabric. The undies look fantastic in contrasting colours so it’s a perfect opportunity to get really creative with fabric scraps.

Ladies Bunzies

If you’re interested in the ladies version of these undies and more details on how to sew them please take a look at my other blog post Stitch Upon a Time Bunzies Sewing Project. I’ve included step by step pictures showing how I’ve sewn the pants – the kids version is stitched in the same way.
