I’ve been looking for something a little bit different for making birthdays cards. These cute zodiac digital stamps from Polkadoodles were perfect. I’ve paired them with Stars Shining papers from Craft Sensations in celestial shades of purples and blues for a really elegant birthday card.
I’m sharing my ProMarker blends and all of the tips and tricks I use to make my handmade cards.
Digital Stamping
I’ve used this Digital stamp from Polkadoodles, it’s part of their Zodiac Digital Craft collection.
I print my digital stamps onto Ultimate Graphic 160gsm paper. It’s bright white so my colours really pop and it’s super smooth surface makes blending easier.
I’ve coloured this little cutie with my Winsor & Newton BrushMarkers. Here’s the shade’s I’ve used:
ProMarker Brush Colours – Skin
ProMarker Brush Colours – Purple
ProMarker Brush Colours – Blue
ProMarker Brush Colours – Yellow
ProMarker Brush Colours – Green
ProMarker Brush Colours – Pink

Designer Papers
These Stars Shining Papers from Craft Sensations were the perfect match.
I get most of my papers from The Range because they are always such great value. I believe this pack was just a pound.
The papers are covered in lovely stary night patterns in soft shades of purple and blue, perfect for these feminine zodiac cards.

Die Cutting
My XCut Star Flourish dies were perfect for the zodiac theme of these cards.

I like to use distress inks to add a bit of colour around my images. I use a Blending Tool to sweep the ink onto the edges of my die cut shape. For this card I’ve used Stormy Sky.
Embellishments
I’ve embellished this card with tiny pearls and glitter washi tape.
What zodiac themed card would be complete without a little bit of glittery bling?? But I felt that using glitter glue or shiny gems would detract from the subtle feminine feel of this card so I opted for pearl gems and a more subtle glitter tape.

Greeting
Choosing the greeting for this card was tricky. I couldn’t find anything along the lines of “Happy Birthday Libra”.
So I’ve used the Libra text that’s included with the Zodiac collection from Polkadoodles and a simple printed Happy Birthday that I composed using Canva.
I’m not sure if I’m totally happy with the result but it was the best I could come up with.

Take a Peak Inside
I think it’s such a shame to receive a beautifully decorated card only to open it and be faced with a blank page. So I use more of my designer papers to decorate the insides of my cards. I mostly use scraps leftover from the main design and a 10cm square of plain paper to write a nice message onto.
