This is a super simple Chow Mein Sauce Recipe that can be made in advance and stir fried with chicken and vegetables for a really quick and easy weeknight dinner. We like it with chicken but it can be made with any meat or vegetables you have to hand, I find it great for home grown veggies and for using up random leftover vegetables.
Ingredients
- 5 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
- 5 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 3 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons All Spice
- 2 Tablespoons Cornflour

How to Make Simple Chicken Chow Mein Sauce
This is a super simple recipe. I’m using an old jam jar to mix the sauce. You can buy fancy flavour mixer things or bottles but a jam jar is free, it has a nice wide neck and you can pop the lid on and give it a really good shake to mix the cornflour in really well.
Add the wet ingredients first, then the dry ingredients.
Just mix the sauce ingredients together and shake the jar – simples.

You can make the sauce up and keep that in the fridge for a few weeks. Add some chicken breasts and stir fry veggies from the freezer and you’ve got a super quick and simple week night meal.
I like to make this Simple Chicken Chow Mein Sauce Recipe the day before I go shopping. It’s great for using up little bits of a variety of different leftover vegetables. I can clear out my fridge and vegetable racks, knowing that nothing will go to waste.
I do hope that my Simple Chicken Chow Mein Sauce Recipe has inspired you to have a go at making your own sauces.
