I’ve got lots and lots of baby girl photos to scrapbook so I’ve treated myself to the It’s a Girl Paper stack from First Edition.
Designer Papers
I don’t tend to use a lot of pink in my crafting but it was the perfect choice for the small mountain of baby girl photos I’ve got to scrapbook. So I treated myself to this It’s a Girl paper stack from First Edition.
I really like the First Edition papers, the quality is second to none and the designs are always versatile.

Embellishments
I particularly like the tag sheet which is included in the It’s a Girl paper pack. Having perfectly co-ordinating embellishments handy makes it easy to add the finishing touches to a scrapbook layout.

Ribbon
For the long elements on the sketch I’ve used paper strips. One of them looked a little plain and I felt that the scrapbook layout lacked texture.
Ribbon can be tricky to stick onto scrapbook pages. This is my favourite technique for neatly hiding the raw ends and stopping them from fraying.
I lay my strip of paper flat on my craft mat and stick a length of double sided tape where I want my ribbon. I make sure that the ends of the tape extend over the ends of the paper and let them stick lightly to the mat.
Then I place my length of ribbon on top of the exposed tape and press it onto the paper.
Because I’ve used some pretty pink organza ribbon the tape shows through the ribbon. I’ve covered this up with a length of narrow washi tape in a glittery pink shade.
I gently lift the paper strip off the craft mat and turn it over. It’s easy to press the ribbon and the extra tape to the back of the paper so that the ends are neatly hidden from the front of the scrapbook page.

Scrapbook Page Title
I have a stack of cards that people gave me when my daughter was born. I found one with a title that suited the papers – an easy job when everything’s pink! I cut around the title and inked the edges. I love that I’m making use of these cards and keeping them without having to store a pile of baby cards.

Distress Inking
I usually ink the edges of most of the elements on my scrapbook pages. I love how it creates a sense of consistency across the whole project. For this layout I’ve chosen Spun Sugar distress ink.
I use a distress inking tool to sweep the ink onto the edges of my paper pieces. It’s a super easy way to add some depth and dimension to a scrapbook page.
Products I’ve Used
I’ve really enjoyed working with the It’s a Girl papers from First Edition. I’ve got plenty of papers left over to scrapbook the rest of my baby girl photos.
I do hope my latest scrapbook project has given you some inspiration for your own scrapbook pages.
